Becoming a Jedi
You can follow the Jedi unlock quests with shortcuts, or ask Nori to unlock Jedi Knight directly.
Follow the Village questline
The Village is your path to Jedi Padawan, not Jedi Knight. Its quests prepare you for the Padawan trials. Becoming a Knight comes afterward through separate Jedi training and Knight trials.
The Force Sensitive Village questline replaced the original profession-based unlock. This is the questline guildmates like Skytzo, Sulwin, and Moshi went through. You can follow the story step by step while skipping the XP grinds entirely.
Get straight to Jedi Knight
Want to skip the Village questline and the Padawan and Knight trials? Ask Nori for an immediate Jedi Knight unlock for your chosen character.
What does the Village questline involve?
- Become “glowy.” See the next section for details. You can check your status with
/checkForceStatus. - Meet the Old Man. Once you qualify, he’ll eventually visit and offer you a Force crystal. A later Sith Shadow encounter starts a trail of datapads and enemies that leads to the Village of Aurilia on Dathomir. Speak with Rohak, the Village elder.
- Unlock and train six Force-sensitive branches. Complete Village quests to unlock branches covering combat, reflexes, crafting, and heightened senses, then train all four boxes in each of your six branches: 24 skill boxes total.
- Face Mellichae. After you finish your six branches, the Old Man returns with another task. Defeat Mellichae and his allies, then follow the Force shrine instructions.
- Complete the Padawan trials. These are 16 trials involving travel, encounters, choices, and crafting your first lightsaber. Completing them makes you a Jedi Padawan.
What does it take to become glowy?
If you want to qualify through adventuring, collect 16 badges across these five categories:
- 1 profession mastery badge. Master a profession.
- 5 content badges. Qualifying adventures include the Jabba, Nym, Rebel, and Imperial theme parks, the two Warren badges, and the Corellian Corvette mission badges. Running five Corvette missions with an experienced guide (Nori) is by far the quickest route. Choose missions that award five different badges; repeating the same badge does not count again.
- 3 Jedi exploration badges. Visit Ben Kenobi’s house on Tatooine, the ruined Jedi temple on Dantooine, and the Temple of Exar Kun on Yavin 4.
- 2 difficult exploration badges. Visit qualifying dangerous points of interest.
- 5 easy exploration badges. Visit qualifying easy points of interest.
It’s the categories that count, not just any 16 badges.
To earn an exploration badge, simply visit the point of interest (POI) and get close enough to trigger the badge; no quest or combat is required.
These coordinates mark the badge triggers, which may differ from the POI markers on your map.
Easy exploration badges: choose any five
| Planet | Waypoints |
|---|---|
| Corellia | |
| Dantooine | |
| Dathomir | |
| Endor | |
| Lok | |
| Naboo | |
| Rori | |
| Talus | |
| Tatooine | |
| Yavin 4 | |
Difficult exploration badges: choose any two
| Planet | Waypoints |
|---|---|
| Dathomir | |
| Tatooine | |
Fort Tusken: Enter the underground pool area to earn the badge; reaching the surface waypoint alone is not enough. “Easy” and “difficult” are badge categories, so watch for nearby enemies at either kind of location.
Jedi exploration badges: visit all three
| Planet | Waypoints |
|---|---|
| Tatooine | |
| Dantooine | |
| Yavin 4 | |
Which NPC unlocks each branch?
The NPC and current Village phase determine which branch you unlock. The same NPC can offer a different branch in another phase. Use this list to plan the six branches you want to train.
Recommended for Jedi: Melee Accuracy, Melee Speed, Melee Defense, and Ranged Defense are useful for every Jedi and highlighted in gold below. Choose whichever two other branches interest you.
| Phase | NPC to talk to | Branch unlocked |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Sarguillo | Ranged Accuracy |
| 1 | Whip | Survival |
| 1 | Quharek | Assembly |
| 1 | Sivarra | Persuasion |
| 2 | Dageerin | Melee Speed |
| 2 | Whip | Vehicle Control |
| 2 | Quharek | Crafting Techniques |
| 2 | Eozlin | Surveying |
| 3 | Dageerin | Ranged Defense |
| 3 | Sarguillo | Melee Accuracy |
| 3 | Quharek | Experimentation (requires Novice Artisan; you can drop it afterward) |
| 3 | Eozlin | Luck |
| 4 | Sarguillo | Ranged Speed or Melee Defense, depending on the quest selected |
| 4 | Chief Engineer | Repair |
| 4 | Sivarra | Healing |
Shortcuts that accelerate the Force Sensitive Village process
- Skip the badge collecting. “Become Glowy” on the Character Builder Terminal qualifies you for the introductory questline immediately. The Old Man visit and introductory encounters still follow.
- Skip the XP grind. Use “Max XP” on the Character Builder Terminal while training your six Force-sensitive branches. You still complete the quests to unlock those branches and train their skill boxes.
- Skip the three-week phase waits. Ask Nori to advance the Village to its next phase. This changes the phase for everyone, so we’ll make sure nobody has unfinished work before moving on.
How long does it take to complete the Village and become a Padawan?
With badge collecting and XP grinding skipped, and Nori advancing the Village phases, the Village questline through the Padawan trials can be completed in hours rather than months. Play through at your own pace, and coordinate with Nori when you’re ready for the next Village phase or if you’re waiting on an introductory encounter.
The 16 Padawan trials
These mix conversations, errands, decisions, smaller fights, creature hunts, and crafting your first lightsaber. The Knight trials below focus on tougher combat. The order is randomized, except that lightsaber crafting is always eighth. This list is an overview, not the order you’ll receive them.
Failing three trials resets your progress to 0 of 16 trials.
| Trial | What you do |
|---|---|
| The Architect | Investigate a land dispute for Kant Graf and resolve it through dialogue. Do not provoke or kill the occupant; either will fail the trial. |
| The Artist | Find Sathme Forr’s assistant and recover her painting supplies. A conversation and delivery task. |
| Bad Cat | Kill a Bloodstained Prowler for Yvana Bailer. |
| The Chef | Confront the thief who stole Seevi Nyed’s pie, then refuse the chef’s demand for revenge. Spare the thief and tell the chef you won’t help him seek revenge. Killing the thief or mocking the chef fails the trial. |
| Craft a Lightsaber | Craft your first lightsaber. This is your eighth trial. |
| Baz Nitch Hunt | Kill 20 Baz Nitches for Menchi. |
| Falumpaset Hunt | Kill 20 Falumpasets for Braganta. |
| Sludge Panther Hunt | Kill 20 Sludge Panthers for Luha Kellaro. |
| The Old Musician | Trace Grizzlo’s old friends through travel and conversations. |
| Pannaqa | Track down a missing delivery and bring a replacement farming-tool part back to Aurilia. |
| The People’s Soldier | Kill a Brigand Leader for Torin Gundo. |
| The Politician | Kill a Bloodseeker Mite for Kaul Dysen. |
| Sob Story | Investigate what happened to Josef Thelcar and report back to Erim. |
| Spice Mom | Collect Sola Nosconda’s supplies from Evif Sulp, then return to her. Hand over the spice by choosing “Here you go.” It eases her son’s pain. Refusing to help or condemning her as a spice peddler fails the trial. |
| The Surveyor | Kill a Sharnaff Bull for Par Doiae. |
| The Ring | Recover Keicho’s missing ring from a pirate, through conversation or combat. |
Read the conversations before acting. Several trials test your judgment, and killing someone simply because they can be attacked can fail the task.
From Padawan to Jedi Knight
This is a separate stage from the Village. After becoming a Padawan, spend at least 206 skill points in Jedi disciplines and fully train two Jedi branches through their fourth skill boxes. These are two columns, not two entire master professions. Village Force-sensitive skills do not count toward those 206 points.
Once you qualify, follow the prompt to a Force shrine on another planet. If the prompt doesn’t appear after training, log out and back in. Keep the required skills throughout the trials, and return to a Force shrine after each hunt to receive the next task.
The Knight trials, in order
- Kill 19 Tusken Raiders.
- Kill 8 Ancient Bull Rancors.
- Kill 8 Stintaril Prowlers.
- Kill 3 Blurrg Raptors.
- Kill 3 Enraged Kimogilas.
- Kill 2 Peko Peko Albatrosses.
- Kill 2 Graul Marauders.
- Choose Light or Dark. Light aligns with the Rebellion; Dark aligns with the Empire. Your faction must not oppose your choice.
- Kill 47 enemy commandos: Storm Commandos for Light, Rebel Commandos for Dark.
- Kill 22 enemy generals: Imperial for Light, Rebel for Dark. Generals, High Generals, and Surface Marshals of the opposing faction qualify.
- Kill 4 enemy Corvette officers: Novatrooper Elite Commanders for Light, Rebel Rear Admirals for Dark.
- Kill the Acklay boss in the Geonosian Bio-Lab on Yavin 4.
- Kill 1 Nightsister Elder.
- Kill Kiin’Dray, the giant gaping spider recluse.
- Kill 1 Giant Canyon Krayt Dragon on Tatooine.
That’s 14 hunts plus your Light or Dark choice. The exact creature types matter: an ordinary krayt won’t satisfy the final trial. Return to a Force shrine after that last kill to finish and receive your Jedi Knight unlock.
The time estimate above covers becoming Padawan, not these additional trials.
Force shrine waypoints
Keep these handy for the Padawan and Knight trials. If your trial tells you to visit a shrine on another planet, choose one there.

| Dathomir | |
| Endor | |
| Lok | |
| Naboo | |
| Rori | |
